THON
MiniTHON is a fundraising event that raises money for the Four Diamonds Fund. Within one school year, hundreds of schools and thousands of students participate to help raise as much money as they can to help out. They are typically 12-hour events consisting of dancing, playing games, eating, and no sitting down.

Four Diamonds
AN ORGANIZATION ON A MISSION FOR SUCCESS
Four Diamonds is a charitable organization whose mission statement is to conquer childhood cancer. They assist children treated in Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and their families through superior care, comprehensive supports, and innovative research. Four Diamonds has one of the highest percentages of money that goes directly to those in need. The organization benefits greatly from donations raised via Penn State’s THON and MiniTHONs hosted throughout the region.
The Parkland High School Dance team is a team of high school girls who dance for the crowd's entertainment at the half-time of basketball games. Other than that, the team did not do much within their school. This year, the team decided to do something big to benefit not only the school, but also an organization in need of some help. Another Mini-THON had been run before at this school, but it was rather unsuccessful, so the team has a mission to make this event fun, successful, and to continue it for years to come.
